my new project for my 68 carbine is throwing in a e-grip. I've already
put on my Lapco Bigshot barrel so time for something new. I need to
know the center point to center point on the bolts that attach to the
main body of my 68 carbine. Also, what e-grip should I go with the
W.A.S, APE, or the original Tippmann?

Good luck on the mod. You get the WAS board in the new grips, so if your going for a new one, then that is the way to go.
Anyway, we want pictures when you get done. |

Frame bolts are 5 3/8" distance across the reciever. 10-32 threaded.

hey, I was wondering what polishing the internals would do and thinking
about replacing the rear bolt, valve, and other worn parts for new
ones. I need to make this last.

Well, polishing actually creates less friction where the bolt travels. It will make the O-rings and internal parts wear less and will increase performance slightly as well, will cycle a tad quicker.
Try Tippmannparts.com for replacement parts. Not sure if they have carbine parts or not, or what is compatable with carbine parts. i should know this stuff, as I use to have a carbine, but I am a little slack. Sorry. A good place to check is the Pro Carbine Owners group. |

Well, its hard to do with the Carbine Series.
The reciever halves dont come apart, so most of the tutorials will not help you. When I did mine, I used a dowel rod and started with 500 grit wet sandpaper, and worked my way up to 2000 grit. I just put the reciever in a 5 gallon bucket of water, and sanded away.. |

Yeah, have to use a dremel or drill. Never thought about it not comeing apart in halves... I never actually took mine apart. I didnt use to be compelled to take things apart. I just oiled her up and wiped it down.

dont use a dremel on the inside. too much of a chance to go too deep, just use steel wool or a sand blaster

i would definatly stay away from samdblasting the inside! i would use the sandpaper and dowel mentioned earlier. |

Thats right, get a dowel thats about 1/8" smaller than the inside of the reciever, and wrap it with the sand paper. This is wet sanding, to buy sand paper accordingly. |
