Topic: Barrel adapter/ CO2Posted: 03 May 2006 at 9:39pm |

I am considering purchasing an A5 and have a few 98c barrels i would want to put on it. Has anyone used a barrel adapter? If so, is there anything bad that can result from using the adapter rather than just buying the new barrel with the right threads? Also, does anyone use CO2 on their A5s? And furthermore, are the a5s difficult to take apart? i though the 98c was difficult at first, but now i can completely dissassemble on in like 2 minutes. any input would be appreciated.

Have the JCS adapter for the 98C barrels and it works good. It was loose on the gun initially and I had to put teflon tape around it so it would fit snug in the gun. Other than that I would recommend it!

A-5 barrel adapters are different from other adapters, in that you are replacing the "tombstone" rather than screwing in an "in-between" adapter. Use of 98 barrels with an adapter on your A5 should work fine.
I still use CO2 with my A5. I have HPA, but for my Tippmanns, usually stick with CO2 as an air source. If you are comfortable with diassembly on the 98, you should be comfortable with diassembly on the A5. There are differences, but you'll be able to pick up on them quickly. Also, the fact that i would probably get an a5 w/ egrip makes me nervous with regards to dissassembly, i wouldnent want to mess up anything electronic

The grip can be taken completely off of the gun without having to worry about disassembling the grip frame. You can take apart and clean the gun and never even see any part of your e-grip, if you so chose.
