It's safe to wash it out with water. Just take it off the gun and run some warm soapy water over it. |

Just undo the screw on top of the stars and pull them out, then you can paper towel it clean.

like Enos said, just undo the screw holding the higher set of feeder arms, once that top one is off, you should be able to reach in easily with paper towels/ cleaning cloth. I also find it helps if you manually advance the sprocket a couple times and while it moves, go along with it to get any paint that was under the feeder arms. when done, just place the top row of feeder arms back in place and put the screw/washer back in place that holds it down. lol I just realized Enos was talking about pulling both sets out, I was only talking about pulling the top one out, the thing is that to pull out both, you need to take the cyclone off the gun, if you only take off the first set while it is still on the gun, you can still get all the stuff out how I discribed, and you don't need to remove the cyclone from the rest of the gun, so it makes your life a little easier.
