Roght now I'm shooting a 98cRT with a 14" J&J. Its a good gone and all, but I need something more. My team is starting speedball and my tippy just won't cut it always. Right now I'm looking at Wraths and Ions.
I want something that I can take into the woods, but something that can hold its own on the speedball field too. |

you should definitely go for a dm3 or a blind matrix. They are extremely reliable, shoot amazing, great quality, and really cheap now. Blind trixs dont chop so if its a big price difference just get a blind trix. They go on the nation for 200 or look for a good deal on ebay. You will be very happy. good luck.

I would also suggest looking into used guns. Ions and Wraiths are good guns, but you can get some REALLY good guns used for about the same price. Once you step into the Matrix/Timmy/Angel category, however, it is mostly a matter of personal preference. All of the guns shoot very well. |

I've noticed many Imps going ~$200 and old Timi's going for around ~$300. Depending on ups and ware, would these be a nice choice for what I need? I want something I won't have to re sell in 4 months......

i have an impulse now, i bought it for $350 with an egg from a friend $200 for an impulse, well, most people wouldnt sell em that low, unless theres not much on them. If you want a good used one, make sure it has NDZ internals, it will get a smoother shot/lighter gun/ and crazy effieciency. there good on paint too for some reason
and timmys go for about $350 for a good one, theres alot of 2002s on there |

imo... i'd try to find a newer gun... 04 if you can... 04 DM3s go for pretty cheap, and i'm pretty sure they came stock with eyes, freestyles are also pretty cheap, but i wouldn't get anything less than a 04 gen 2... angels... meh... not a big fan due to some bad experiences. timmies... i've seen some non-05 timmies rip it up... but it all depends on the ups it has.
used upped ions also go for dirt cheap used... |

What about E-bolting the 98? You'd get to keep your gun, it would have an impressive rof, and all the benefits of a high end marker.
I just thought i'd throw this out there since this is a tippmann formum, lol

Nah, for the same price and half as much effort I could get a new gun and sell my tippy.
I just snagged a 48/3000 and an Egg2 with X and Z boards installed for $75. Viva la nation! I must say though....still looking at getting a Wrath ltd for $240. I don't really want a Trix....they look like a brick with a barrel and a trigger (no offence to and trix owners). I know that pretty stupid, but I want a gun that I actually like seeing....ya know? One of my friends just bought a Wrath ltd, I'm going to ask to shoo his a bit to see how I like it. I'll try and find someone that will let me shoot an Impy too. Right now its between those two guns. |

Imp's are way too heavy. If you don't mind shooting a brick then I say go for it. Look more for a used pm6, or something of that matter. Shockers are nice when they are working, but they are alot of upkeep. Don't bother putting money into a gun that is not woth it. Like Ion, etc. Dont' get me wrong, ion's are nice but just don't drop 100's of dollars into them. Just keep looking on the nation and you will find some awesome deals.

Promasters or used Cyborgs is the way to go IMO. I love my friend's Promaster, it's stock and ropes like a madman.
It is: +Light +Has a great stock trigger +Has a decent board +Decent stock barrel -Doesn't come with an ASA unfortunately -Doesn't have the sexiest stock grips +Looks great -Hard maintanance from what my friend has said. Edited by JcKa - 12 June 2006 at 10:09am |
