don't try and flame me, i'm a proud tippy owner and user, i've just recently branched out into mags. anyways, i boutght this minimag, popped the nitro in and it seemed to shoot fine until i chronoed it... it was shooting like 150 to 170. i toyed with the little knob at the back of the valve to no avail. and to add to that, now when i screw in any tank, be it co2 or n2, air hissis out the back of the valve. my initial guess would be a bad o ring, but i'm not sure how to get inside the valve or if i really want to be doing that.
would anybody be able to help me with my mag troubles?
oh yah... i also tried puting my tank onto my 98 and i was getting similar (150ish) velocities. the tank is brand new though, and was just filled... any help would be greatly appreciated.

A common misconception: we aren't all about Tippies. All kinds of guns are accepted on these forums. As for mags, I'm not sure how to help you, but you can ask >><< (yeah, that's his screen name). He should be able to help you.

Thanks DeTrevni!

But ok umm ya it seems like one or more of your o-rings have blown in the valve

you gonna need to get an allen wrench and unscrew the valve screw make sure you disconnect the airsource.

But once you get th valve out it unscrews into 2 parts the back half is where the velocity is controlled and the front half hold all the inner workings of a mag.

I'm really not familar with classic valves assuming what in your mag now. But on mine you can unscrew something in the back and it all comes out the inside of the valve and just start replacing orings.

These o-rings will be SMALL so you may need to go to a proshop or call AGD

if you have any stars left on your valve i advise you to go ahead and turn in your valve to get a free repair done or just call AGD and ask them if they'll repair if you don't want to.

My Mag displayed this problem when I first got it.

if the velocity adjuster on the back is backed to far out it lets air escape.

screw it in until it stops doing that when you gas it up.

classic mag valves have threading for a disk to lock down the velocity
adjuster, make sure you have removed it, as it could just be in an arbitrary
position.

I think going in increases velocity and out decreases velocity, but being to
far eiher way causes problems.

so what would explain my velocity problems from my n2 tank. like i said, it was shooting like 150 no matter how far which way the velocity screw was in. the tank i have isn't adjustable. what is the output pressure of n2 tanks (not low pressure) as compared to co2 tanks?

i have two minimag's myself and the velocity is like fatwill had pointed out as to the tank it can be a bad system or set wrong tobegin with , id say if it is new bring it back and ask your local store tech to check it on one of thier guns also you made sure before getting it that its not a low pressure tank correct thier is a big diffrence between the both . both tippmann and automags need high pressure to preform properly . if i had to guess id say you might have a lowpressure tank instead . just a guess but worth checking out anyways.
