Topic: Flatline 2nd stage barrelsPosted: 17 July 2006 at 4:19pm |

I've seen many posts on the "Marker Gallery" with
Flatlines that have a 2nd barrel attached afterward. Can anyone help me with known barrels that can easily attach to the flatline or MOD's that they have already completed as examples? I have a feeling that I could give it more of an M16 look by using the flatline itself as my handguard. Edited by Tempest [94th] - 17 July 2006 at 4:20pm |

Once again I could be wrong but isn’t the design of the flatline to cause the ball to reverse spin which causes it to arch a bit ie more distance. Wouldn’t putting a secondary barrel on defeat this? |

That's what I was thinking, however if the secondary barrel was a larger diameter than the flatline (just for looks) than it might not have an effect on the spin of the ball. What do you guys think?

The ball would just keep spinning as it went down the extra barrel part.
http://www.chasepb.com/Default.aspx? Scoll down a bit and it shows one for the a-5. |

kinda a dumb idea...
Also, why do you want an M-16? All you see out there are m-16 and m-4 wannabes, why don't you do something original that nobody else has. |

It isn't a second barrel.
It is the second generation of A-5 flatline barrel. Basically it is a 98 flatline designed with an A-5 barrel adaptor. Everyone and anyone that has ever shot one will tell you that the Model 98 flatline was far superior in range to the A-5 version, but it was a pain in the butt to setup perfectly. This barrel is 14" long (like the original 98 flatline was designed to be) BUT!!! it uses the A-5 barrel adaptor so that lining it up is easy enough for even the most ADHD riddled kid to be able to handle it with no sweat. Nah, this was definately an A-5 Flatline barrel with a small attachment, I know that for a fact. Now does anyone have a MOD they could tell me about or show me. And again if you have a problem with Mil-Sim guys not being original, that's because it's designed to look like an existing gun. Genius.

Technically, that shouldn't work--or cause the flatline to be much less effective--due to the fact that when the ball exists the flatline it immediately raises in hieght. It would either cause horrible accuracy, or bad range, or tonnes and tonnes of chops. |

Hmmm I see what you mean Raven. Im starting to think that I should go with an alternative. Im trying to think of a weapon that has a barrel like that looks like the flatline (whether it's a suppressor or just a big rounded muzzle). Any Idea's?

Never been a big fan of adding things onto barrels. There designed for a certain air dissipation and the second you add onto it even if its 2” bigger in diameter then the original barrel your still constricting that dissipation as it exits the barrel. Especially in the case of flatlines since they don’t have any porting. It never matter for real firearms because is here and gone, for paintballs however it can affect the travel and accuracy. |

I agree with ravenguard, too many m16/m4 milsim a5's. Im in the army so i get enough of em as it is. Thats why i went for the MP5 look plus the a5 looks more MP5ish from the start.
