I just had a friend tell me it was ok to use WD-40 on my marker. If you don't know what that is, it is a multipurpose grease that you can use on door hinges, tires, etc. I don't live in a big paintball town and there are practically no shops much less a decent one. I ran out of the stuff i got with the original package and I really need to clean my gun (direct shot right into the rear bolt area). What can i use?

im jk........loctite would completely ruin ure gun. go to a hardware store or CVS or any kind of grocery store and im sure they will have WD-40 or a different type of lubricant

you may not be able to use wd-40 to lubricate your gun but you can lightly wipe your gear with it to help with clean-up

Go to a Home Depot and buy yourself a bottle of air tool oil. I use it to oil my o-rings and so do alot of veterans I play with. I have been using this type of oil for a long time now with no problems with my o-rings wearing out prematurely and it works great. |

There is theory that the solvents in WD-40 attack the "O" rings in the marker. Not so, but the myth persists. WD-40 is an extremely light oil, which, though it works, doesn't last very long. ANY good quality oil will do the job. Automotive supply stores (and Home Depot as Gravesend said) carry air tool oil which is very inexpensive and one of the best lubricants...and a Tippmann marker is an air operated tool. Also, pure lubricating gun oil such as Hoppe's, available at stores ranging from gun shops to WalMart, is an oil Tippmann recommends. White lithium grease works well on areas of th rear bolt (hammer) to reduce scuffing and seal the "O" ring. Available in small plastic tubs or squeeze tubes at automotive supply stores. 3-in-1 oil, a very good quality light oil, is as good as any and available at drug stores and sewing machine shops.
