I finished installing my E-Grip today.. but I noticed the manual says there is an LED... there IS NO LED, the board is functioning perfectly however I am just curious about this LED that it keeps talking about...? Do Was Boards no longer come with LEDS? Also, is it okay to "dry fire" the board while I'm tuning, by that I mean fire it w\o air and w\o the gun being cocked. Also... I hear on the was board you have to fire three times to achieve fully auto.. on this you don't.. you just put turn the dial (with the little screwdriver) to 5.. and bam, you got it...is this NOT the was board?... it says on the package that it is

Well, I called Tippmann seems I have their old chip, the guy said it was more hassle-free than the Was Equalizer... so should I keep it or what?

Yeah... but after actually studying the board.. it seems much more reliable and easier.. it has automatic shutoff, dial in modes, aka you crank it to 9 for Turbo, 5, for Full Auto, 7 for Burst, etc, and you also have a dial for speed...I think I'll be keeping this one, it goes up to 19bps so my QEV Cyclone easily keeps up with it

That is the tippmann egrip.....never used is but my WAS board is back at tippmann getting fixed after about 500 shots, if that helps with your decision at all.  APE board is ordered, hopefully better than WAS

Hey Mr. 47 what are you getting yourself into now! I know I don't want a 9 volt or some kind of electronic's failing me in the feild when under fire! Just my opinion.

Yeah, I can't find any complaints about the TIPPMANN E-Grip w\o Was.... but with WAS I see complaints EVERYWHERE. It dosen't fire as fast... but who needs to go over 19bps anyway? And Tippy, yeah, outta the R\T and into the electronics that every tourny\rec player seems to use these days.

I had the original Egrip that I bought before last season.  Have been using the same battery up until 2 weeks ago.  Almost 2 years on one battery.  Not too shabby.  It has never failed me in any way, shape or form.

Wow, you learn something everyday. I had know idea that the battery will last that long. Also who would of thought that the old board is more reliable and hassle free than new Wicked Air Sports board. Good point on the cyclone keeping up with the r.o.f Mr. 47. And yah I know the pro's run electronics but most of the guns they use start at about 1000 bucks. I was thinking that the electronics they use are higher end stuff. Like Virtue boards for example. For the price of those guns they better work everytime.

The only reason the battery last longer is because there is no LED in the original board... i have the the new board.. i havent had a single problem with it... I like it so much I see no reason to switch to an APE board... and switch the dwell, debounce, firemodes are all very simple.. took me like 5 minutes to figure it out
Tuesday starts the weekend... YAYAYA!!!!

LED barely consumes any battery at all... Rampage board has an LED and lasts 3x as long as the WAS....Was I believe isn't that good of a board, to many things can go wrong and it seems it's prone to failure, I constantly hear about peopleing having problems with it. Anyway, I'm set with this grip I just turned the bps all the way up and keep it on Turbo, I can do semi if I want or then just tap it faster and bam, hail of balls fly out  Ric, the key to the Ape Rampage is it's faster, more reliable *Quote reviews* has longer battery life, and has extra tournament modes. And Yeah Tippy, they do techinically have "higher-end electronics" have you ever seen the Angels break-beam eyes? *drool* but then again, since those guns are costly alone, the people who make the chips say "Hey.. they had enough money to BUY that guy.. I'm sure they'll have ENOUGH to buy an over-priced chip..."
