I've heard some people having trouble running 9 volts. They're meant to be run on 9.6 volts, so that may be the problem. Of course, I've also heard people running their e-Spyders fine on 9 volts. It would be nice if you could find proper termanology. What's a "trigger bolt?" Edited by DeTrevni - 30 September 2006 at 8:12pm |

Is there a way to check if it is giving out enough power? Do you have one of those things that checks power? Also the thing sounds like a sear. |

Make sure the frame screws are tight. If all else fails, shim the solenoid with a thin piece of something. (coin, envelope, etc.)

One thing to make sure... NEVER LEAVE YOUR SPYDER CHARGING WHILE IT IS ON, it will almost assurely FRY the board. My Pilot ACS stopped working after dissambleing a few times because the sear had worn down. Replaced and bam, it was back up and running. And yeah, never use a regular 9.0 V, the boards can get hurt by them, and they will start messing up in heat of game, only use 9.6 V, you don't HAVE to use the Java one though.

That's a joke, right. Isn't this the Gun Maintenace and Repair forum? 'Course it's not a Tippmann. |

Dude, I have seen Spyder Sears wear down in a WEEK, normally due to people (like me) constantly stripping the gun and taking out the hammer\bolt assembly, each time you take that out, you were down the sear.

See all these problems could be avoided by using a Tippmann .
But while you have a spyder, we'll try to help you. If you have a multimeter or continuity tester (for electronics), test the wires leading to the solenoid (assuming its separate, if not check the contacts), and test the wires leading from the battery to the board. Also, try replacing the sear. |
