Guitar lessons

Last friday I decided I was going to start playing bass again, I've had a long break from it so I bought an Ibanez GSR200 not an expensive guitar but one that has a beautiful harmony to it. To make a long story much shorter I looked at a Fender squire and the guy that was helping me laughed at the idea and pulled the Ibanez off the shelf, as it was priced much lower I was confused, juvienelle mistake on my part. He played both and I could hear the difference so I bought the Ibanez. A few days later my brothers girlfriend comes over to my house and asks if she can see my guitar, I'm not a jerk so I said sure. She played one really really easy song, smoke on the water and I'm talking about the lead guitar line not the bass line, and needed to buy a guitar, "I'm getting one I'm getting one" she said just like a little kid. So I ask if she plans on taking lessons and she says "No I'm just going to learn like I learned that song it was easy enough right?" So I was explaining to my brother about the fender squire situation and she was standing right there. Two days later she buys a fender squire becuase it was more expensive so it must be better.
