i think that tippman should make a lot of different types of guns that can shoot gel packs like soldiers use to train.

Onward Tippmann soldiers, marching off to stain,
With a hail of paintballs to cause opponents pain,
Pull the trigger faster, bunker every foe,
Surge across the field, see the Tippmanns go!

I'm gonna be nice on this one. E-rok, you need to chill. The internet tough-guy thing needs to go. At this point, few to none of us respect you because of it. Here, we frown upon bumping an old post, and if a thread is not active for more than 15 days, it's usually dead. Also, we ban for filter dodges and swearing.

Back to the subject;

Gel Packs? I'm not aware af any "gel packs" used by the military. The Military uses "miles gear" (Advanced laser tag) and sometimes simunitions.

miles gear is far more efficient than buying expensive "gel-packs".

Plus, you can have a flat trajectory without killing anyone.

Downside to miles is that it tends to teach poor cover and concealment habits.  Since a laser can be stopped by a leaf, the troops get used to using cover in a manner that wouldn't work effectively in a firefight with real bullets.  This is one of the reasons the military would like to use simunitions more often, despite the expense.

Of course, simunitions have problems of their own; the lighter powder charge/projectile means that "real world" ranges can not be duplicated except with the 9 mm pistol rounds.  This makes them very good for CQB training (interior of buildings or externally in thick cover) but less realistic for longer range engagements.

yeah but then if you are using simmunition for CQB, you could just as easily use paintballs. which are still cheaper.

True, and it's been done; the Coast Guard boarding teams train with paintball markers. (Well, I know they used to a few years ago; I don't know for sure if they still do.)

The main advantage of simunitions over paintballs is that simunitions can be fired out of weapons very similar to the duty weapon.  This allows training for reloading, malfunctions, and immediate action drills.  Also, since they fire at a significantly higher velocity than paintballs, they have a more realistic trajectory.

yeah, but trajectory is pointless if you are talking about CQB. And if you want realism, check out the ATS paintball gun line. Thats what those were all originally built for.
