Before, I had a Tippmann A5 running on CO2; however, I ended up selling the gun because I really didn't like the feel to it and I turned into more of a Speedball player rather than a Woodsball player and I needed a gun that could keep up with the guns that my other team mates used. So, I recently purchased a Smart Parts Epiphany and I know that usually these guns run on Nitro; however, I still have the CO2 tank from my previous gun and at the moment I don't have cash to buy a Nitro tank yet and at the place where I paintball at, they don't usually have Nitro tanks available. So I was reading the manual on my Epiphany and I read that I can either use an Anti-Siphon CO2 tank or use a Remote Line (which I happen to have) with my CO2 tank. So my real worry is, would it really be safe to use my CO2 tank with my remote line? I know the manual says I can but I really just want to be sure and hear some feedback from other experienced players as I am new to these types of paintball guns. Note* I am not Nemisis2099, I am his brother. I'm only using his account because I cannot register my own at the moment. He still owns a crappy A5... hehe just kidding. Well, it would be risky, but an Epiphany is just a fancy Ion, so I guess you could. I woldn't shoot too fast, that's for dang sure. Your best bet is to get HPA/nitrogen ASAP.

All Smart Parts guns say they can run anti-siphon co2, even the shocker. Co2 can get ugly when it does damage to the marker. Just don't use co2 if it's cold out.

Yeah, I agree. Messing up internal parts or anything on the gun is the last thing I want to do. I guess I'll just have to wait and get a Nitro tank. Also, I know this has to be the lamest question ever, but would it be possible to use the remote line on the Nitro tank? Reason for this is because I like the current weight of the gun and it'll be extremely easy for me to move around with it and have my tank harnessed to the back of my vest. Using it as a stock really isn't a necessity for me, but if it's a must then I guess I would have to have it mounted onto the gun. |

Well, it's definately doable. But if the gun's worth a darn, it should be a tad front heavy, so when the tank's on there, it balances. I've noticed my markers feel a bit off balance when on a remote. Also, in speedball, remotes can get clumsy.

Maybe look for one of the new Guerrilla Air Myth tanks but thats probably way out of your price range. Crossfire is a good company to look at as well as PMI.

If you're short on $, get a 47/3000 NitroDuck from SpecOps for under $60. It'll only give you about 500 shots, but if you're Speedballing, that might be plenty. I used mine for woods for awhile until I recently got a larger one.

^^because c02 is in an actual liquid state while in the tank. The co2 has to expand into a gas in order to power the marker. Sometimes, the co2 cannot expand fast enough to keep up with the marker's rof, and you will notice a drop in velocity towards the end of a succession of rapid shots. Compressed air (the same applies to nitrogen), is already in a gas form, thus does not need to expand.
Also, with co2 is sometimes some liquid co2 can get sucked up in your marker. This has very bad results with electro-pneumatic markers, such as your epiphany, due to the co2 condensing through the marker, and ruining your electronics (i.e. your board, which is very necessary and not cheap). I would not use co2 on any electro marker, just to be safe. You wouldn't want to ruin your brand new marker. |

Oh, wow. Thanks a lot for the information. I think I mentioned it in my other thread, that I tested it out a bit yesterday with CO2 via a remote line. Is there anything I can do [just to be safe] to check that I didn't damage anything on the gun? The gun was still working fine when I stopped testing it, I only really stoped testing it because I live in an aparment and it was extremely loud. So is there anything I can do to self-check that all the parts have no damage done to them?

A carbon fiber HPA tank is really not that heavy at all. The remote would just get in the way to be honest with ya, flipping the gun around from left to right, it tends to get snagged on stuff.

I owned my power tube using co2 in the cold... i had to buy a new one so i just got a red hot power tube
