Dunno if this will fail or win, but here it goes:

Well, today I was in the backyard with my dog and was playing fetch

with him and his ball. It had just rained and when I threw the ball, it

rolled through a puddle and the ball was soaked. My dog brings it

back. I pick it up and toss it again, but I notice something, the water

flying away in hundreds of thousands of droplets and then hits the

ground. I finish and go back inside and pondered this for a while.

I was thinking of how a paint grenade like that would benefit in a

close quarters game.

I thought that maybe somehow, I'm not sure how though to have

the  'nade detonate upon a certain time, not on impact; but while

spinning and sending the paint slinging everywhere giving you time to

take cover and losing time for your opponent to throw or get away

from it.

So if anybody can help, give me some info on how I could do this?

To be eliminated at most fields the paint splot or hit must be larger than a dime. So spraying in flight while spinning is probably is not the answer.

The best homemade grenade I've seen was a tube type with one end tied in a bow with 30 feet of string. The guy threw it and held the string. It worked but missed the target. I was really impressed at the simplicity of it.

Ya for your idea to work you could use a timed fuse and just hold it long enough so it explodes in mid air.

Well a timed fuse is about the only way you will get something to detonate at a certain time. I guess if you want to creat a splatter effect you could just carry around some paint and dip your tennis ball in it and throw it at people.

Alright i know how to make this work. Cut the tennis ball in half, and inside place a baloon filled with paint (make sure it was a small baloon so that when it pops, there is an effect.)before you put the ballon in do this. in the skin of the tennis ball make sure u get some holes, maybe like 5 mm in diameter. and install a small needle in the interior of the tennis ball skin. and a rubber cover to make sure it wont puncture the baloon right away. glue the covers of the tennis ball with the baloon and everything. before you do, attach a key pull detonator linked to the rubber needle cover so that when u pull it and throw it, it punctures the ballon and explodes and "maybe" sprays paint.

Hell im sure if u find a slow burning firecracker, and u place it inside the ball with the fuse sticking out maybe you light it and throw it, that can possibly work.

If tiny holes wont work (cuz maybe the tennis ball will just fill up with paint instead of spraying it all over the place, you can make larger holes on the tennis ball, anyways hope its an idea you were waiting for...

General field rules state, that any size drop of grenade paint is an elimination. I see several problems with your idea.

  1. if you're that close quarters, just bunker him.
  1. you're dreaming up some overcomplicated thing that will either weight too much, or not put out enough paint.
  2. explosive grenades are prohibited by insurance compannies

Here's a better idea, take a standard paint grenade and chuck it hard at the ground in front of the other person, or toss it up in the air, with a lto of loft.

I would say put a small under water dynamite at the end of some rubber medical tubing with paint in the tube. Have the other end tied shut. Light the fuse, wait, then boom in the air. Of course, this would only work for private property.
