Personally I prefer the X7 out of the 2. If you want a close price range though get the A5 with the egrip. it is basically an X7. I am not an SP fan because of design, the plastic shell, and just lack of ethics as far as I have heard. If you do go with the X7 or A5 I do not reccommend the Flatline if you want accuracy. The barrel is great for adding range but at that range it also becomes less accurate. If you want accuracy save your money from the barrel and buy a lapco or a J&J for less than the flatline.

ion is better
the x7 doesn't have eyes and the ion can shoot much faster and overall is better |

if you put 500 dollars into an A5 it is still an A5

The X7 with egrip is faster and doesnt need eyes. X7 cyclone is rated up to 20bps stock. The Ion and A5 are both 17 bps stock.

If you're going to be playing speedball and scenario I would get the ion. Simply because you'll have a hard time on the speedball field with the X7 And the ion can do pretty well in both with the right ups. |

There is no such thing as a speed ball or woods ball gun, I have a tippmann I play speed with and I have an ion I play woods with. The main thing is what do you want, not what does an internet forum full of people who may have different preferences want. So, what you should do is go find both of these markers, hold them/shoot them. Then choose which one feels best to you. I personally wouldn't like playing speedball with the x7 do to size, because it would be very hard to tuck into a bunker with it. On the other hand, I personally have played woodsball with the ion and it does in fact perform great, it isn't to heavy and if you are worried about shooting to much paint then don't pull the trigger as much.
