I have 2 tippmann 98's from 1998. Replacement parts can you still get them. Will custom 98 insides work? I know i can get cheap custom 98 on ebay but mine are in good condition.

Parts for the old M98's are still available.  I like www.tippmannparts.com.

I have one old M98 (late 1998 or early 1999), and one 98C (2002).  There are only a few parts that will not work between the two guns.

1.  Some old M98's had a metal power-tube.  If you have a metal power-tube, you cannot use 98C front bolts, stock or after-market.  You cannot use a 98C plastic power-tube in a M98 without modifying either the power-tube or your receiver.  You can order a M98 plastic power-tube and will be able to use after-market front bolts.  If your M98's currently have a plastic power-tube, you are good to go...

You only need to install the plastic if you want to replace the front bolt with an after-market part.  The older metal power-tube was a slightly larger diameter.  If you're still running the stock front bolt, stay with the metal tubes.  I think it was a better design.

2.  The trigger & trigger spring were changed.  Make sure to replace with the M98 Trigger & Trigger spring.

3.  Sometime during the 98C period, the sear & sear spring were changed.  I am not sure if the new design will work in an older M98 or 98C.  It's possible they moved the locations of the dowel pins.  Order a Sear & Sear Spring for a M98 or old style 98C.

4.  You cannot use a Double Trigger, Response Trigger, E-Trigger, or Cyclone Feed on a M98 without modifying the receiver.  And stay away from ACT specific upgrades.

There have been a bunch of other parts that have been re-designed, but as far as I know, the re-designs work in the M98.  All parts in the Tippmann Parts Kit, and O-Ring Kit should be able to be used in either gun without an issue.

I hope I didn't over-look anything.
