I am using this gun in a scenario event where every team will have a V.I.P. The objective is to get to the golden gun, which is the only weapon that can destroy another base and blow it up. The V.I.P. only carries a pistol.

I'm fairly certain the barrel is a 14" 32 Degrees Whisper Barrel.

but its gold, and shiny.

im thinking a chrome to gold fade might be in order for my neglected 98c.

I bet that a well maintained 98 can go for decades!... I had one, and its still around playing, it was one of the first to come out and still rocks!...
