Ok im sure this is covered some where but i just didnt find it. So after a hour of looking im gonna go ahead and ask. A shop sold me a remote for a HPA setup and the hose is really thin. I think it would be called micro. Its atleast half the thickness of most lines. Could it be starving my gun for air. Oh ya my setup is a A5, RT, 6 post stock, BT 14 M16 barrel, cyclone with squishy paddles, madman red spring. It shoots but the range sucks. Anything past 40Ft is a free for all, the ball just wonders off. Oh ya and im using some paint that is called Midnight not sure of the manufacturer, but it is a good match for the barrel.

If the hose is attached from your tombstone to the ASA on your marker than it is either Macroline or Microline. I have used Macroline and not it should not starve your marker for air. Microline has gotten some bad reveiws, but not sure the exact reason. A "remote" is actally a coiled line that attached to the ASA where your tank would go and runs to a remote tank on your back or wherever else you put it. It shouldnt starve your marker for air unless you have the knob attached to the tank screwed in too tight. It can actually block the valve on the tank and cause starvation. I would guess that the issue would be the paint. Also, what is your FPS? |

Pics would help. Without them, I have to say that if you are using micro-line air starvation will be a problem.

Oldpbnoob, I understand what a remote is, and I dont think that im blocking the tanks air outlet, Ive read about that all over the sight here. Im runing 270 FPS and its dropped with the line to 220. Dont think its the paint. I tested the fit by removing the barrel dropping one in. It stops about 3/4 way to the tip and blows out when i blow on thru the barrel. Mack thanks for the reply, I do not have pics a this time due to the fact im at work and dont have my gun with me. I guess if I dont have a salution in the next couple days Ill just put out the 40 dollars and buy a regular large remote line. How far should I be able to shoot with a A5 with that barrel. I have only played PB once with a rental and this is my first gun to buy and add stuff to it, so not sure what i can expect from it. Edited by ajbjoust - 28 May 2008 at 2:26pm |

Are you able to adjust the velocity and FPS back up to 270-285? If the marker wont adjust past this, than there is a problem. |

Ok, so sorry to bump a nearly month old thread, but as luck would have it, I was running into the same issue with my remote this weekend. I had the front RVA on my 98 all the way unscrewed and couldnt get the FPS past 220-230. When I tried playing, I couldn't get the RT past maybe 2-3/per second and the cyclone would fail to cycle every 3-4 shots. Eventually, I took the remote off and put the tank on the marker and voilay... it works like a champ. The remote is a Rap4 with slide check. Any input? Edited by oldpbnoob - 16 June 2008 at 11:04am |

Regarding the micro-line remote: The reason you don't see these used very often anymore is that they can't deliver sufficient air to support semi-auto operations. The standard behavior of the marker in this situation is that the initial few shots are at the correct velocity then velocity drops rapidly as additional shots are fired. Firing enough shots will eventually cause the marker to sputter and die like it does with an empty tank.
Regarding OPB's remote issue (and this may be an additional issue for the original poster as well): Try installing the remote again. If the same problem reoccurs unscrew the remote from the tank 1/4 turn at a time and see what happens. Sometimes the remote knob can be screwed in so far that it blocks the tank opening after it actuates the tank valve pin. An easy solution for this, if it is indeed the issue, is to add some metals washers as spacers so the remote knob won't screw in as far. |

I tried to screw in the knob all the way in and sat at the chrono station turning it up and down to no effect. I listened to see if there was any hissing and didnt hear any leaks. I was going to try taking off the slide check to see if this made any difference. While I don't have a chrono, I can as least see how the marker performs (whether RT works of Cyclone cylcles) to see if it makes a difference. Also, I should note that the line on mine is not the micro.
