I just finished polishing the internals on my 98 platinum. A very simple procedure. When I reassembled the marker and test fired it, gas started leaking from the tube nut where it enters the valve. I tightened the nut and the leak stopped until I dry fired it a few more times the leak started again. The marker fires and cycles normally, it just starts to leak after a few shots. I don't want to over tighten the tube nut, so where should I go from here? There is no "O" ring where the tube enters the valve is there? There wasn't one there (that I saw) when I disassembled the marker.

I would make sure the valve and hose are properly aligned. The gas line on the platinum is a press-fit with that weird nut in the body. But I would guess even a slight alignment would cause leaking.

Second of that, clean the mating surfaces, make sure theres no crud in there.

Thanks Enos. The nut that holds the gas line in the valve is chromed. I noticed that some of the chrome was flaking off. I removed the line from the marker, made sure the mating surfaces were clean and reinstalled it. No problems now.

Thanks again

Andreas
