    Posted: 26 January 2009 at 11:55am

Hello, I current have the following:

Tippmann Custom Pro E-trigger
Vertical ASA adapter
Male Palmer Stab
Deadon Powertube
Delerin Superfly bolt
98 Cyclone feed - with Tech T vortex mod and QEPH
Lapco offset sight mount
Rocket Cock

I have been having some issues with ball chop, both in the cyclone and in the gun.  I've tried many varieties of paint and still haven't had any luck.  I plan to finish modding the cyclone and I am thinking about buying the latest and greatest custom pro, and I'm wondering if I will have any issues swapping all the parts to the new gun.  Is there anything that won't work?

Thanks in advance!

I personally would suggest taking the marker back down to as close to original as possible. I.e. stock bolt, powertube etc. Once you have done this, start adding back and see what happens. I suspect the Dead On PT and bolt. I had the same in my 98C/ACT and had issues until I removed them.

If you are talking about the 98Platinum, the vertical adapter you have will not fit it as the airline connects to the valve differently. The only way you could use it is if you used the PT and bolt you have, but I am not sure if they will work or not since the 98P doesnt use retaining screws for the PT. Even if  the aftertmarket PT will work, I wouldn't put them on any of my markers anyways.

As for buyng a new 98.... why? Take the money you want to spend on a new 98 and look into another marker.

Gonna agree with ^^ Usually the stock bolt and powertube are the best bets for Tippmann's.  Usually  the "upgrades" actually cause the marker to fire worse and can  even often chop paint.

I'm with the others. Reinstall the stock internals and see how the guns performs. I'd think it a waste to buy another 98, especially when you may not need to or could buy a better gun.

Along with the other dudes, I'll agree too.  Wouldn't spend the money on a whole new one if you can most likely fix the problem with the one you have.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I do have other reasons for wanting a new gun, for one, its new.  I like the act bolt idea as well as the WAS board and reciever design.  But if I can't move my palmer over to the new gun, I'd rather not buy it.

Buy an A-5. You can put the male stab directly into the tombstone. You could also switch your cyclone parts over to it as well.
