Hello all
 
I just stripped my TPX for the first time to clean and oil.
 
All is well except that its damn gas hungry - prior to the strip, i got more than two mags out of a canister now i get 5 shots
 
Im not to clued up with the velocity etc screws
 
Could that be eating the gas

The velocity adjustment is a regulator, so yes I imagine if its set wrong it could use way too much gas.

If its using that much gas per shot, Im amazed its not exploding the paint in the barrel.

Is your PTX chronoed? Mine out the case was shooting a little hot. I had to bring it down a bit.

OK IVE set the velocity all the way down and it doesnt even fire a ball. Then just adjusted it until it did, I cant measure chrono as I have no meter.

Still chewing gas, could it not have to do with the internal screw, the pressure not velocity adjuster

check your gas tube o rings and connections. it could be either loose, and firing extra, or leaking.

If you dont hear it leaking anywhere, then its a problem with the regulator or main valve.

If its not leaking, I would call Tippmann regarding it.

There is no Magic way to tell your Marker's velocity other than a Chronograph. If you don't live near a field I suggest that you invest in one. I know that after misplacing mine. I'll have to cough up the $60 bones for a new one.
