Ok. I have a Tippmann 98 Custom Pro that I wanna trick out. Here's what I started with:
The stock that's on it now goes on my other 98, so it just has a stock butt cap on there now. I grinded the front grip off and sanded it down. Considering I cut it off, and I lost a screw keeping the body together, I drilled a hole and put a screw in there just to keep the body tight. Here's some pictures of what I did:
I need some more opinions. I'm going to get a stock trigger and guard and put back on there cause I don't like double triggers. I'm probably going to get a qloader and put it somewhere. Don't know where yet, but I like the idea. I'm going to get a stock of some sort, but I don't know what kind yet. Just to clarify; I'm not wanting to mount this into a real rifle body. I just want to sorta look like a rifle. I'm also going to get another ASA. I hate that one... With a passion... I have a barrel on the way, so I'm set there. I took the "CUSTOM PRO" sticker off, so it looks better. I'm also probably going to get a scope, mainly for looks. I want it for scouting, too. Always good to be able to see what the bare human eye can't.
Thanks in advance!

I'd lose the big Tippmann LP/ASA. It was used with the 98 Ebolt setup originally
and contains a low pressure regulator to run the ebolt setup. It does nothing
but add weight to a non ebolt marker. Adjusting it does nothing. Maybe a CP ASA.
I always wanted to make a wire stock from the rear sight back, down, and forwards to the bottom of the grip. Use maybe 1/2 inch aluminum square rod.
Possibly a nice wood foregrip to cover the spot you cut the original off. I'm terrible with wood
but I think it would be a straight forward buid.
Good luck, and post some pics as you go. Edited by TinMan - 28 October 2009 at 11:04pm |

Yeah, I'm going to keep the camera close as this build progresses. I'm going to grind off the "TIPPMANN" thing on the side. As far as the internals I'm going to get a starfire bolt and a TechT zero kick hammer. I'm going to try and grind the flair things off where I took the front grip off, just to make it look better. I may put a sight rail under there... Or I may do like you said and put a wood grip... I'm going to have to make it removable, so I can clean the gun. As far as the stock, I have a CAR stock on my other 98, and like it pretty well. I'm either going to go with another one of those, or a commando stock. I can't decide... I was thinking about getting two 90* fittings and running the braided hose up past the trigger somehow, but I don't know where I'd make it go from there, or if it'd even work. I'm just going to have to experiment a little more. More opinions would be appreciated, please. :)
Thanks. :)

I like the one with the Rap4 stock better. ^_^
Where did you get the hand guard for it?
I got my barrel yesterday ( 16" J&J Ceramic ) and I ordered a CAR stock last night. I was going to go with a SAW stock or a commando stock, but I didn't know how I'd like them. I have a CAR stock on my other 98 and I really like it, so I just went with something I knew I'd like. Here's what I'm wanting to do as far as the CO2.
I'm going to take the ASA off, and the braided hose out of the power tube. I have an extra remote line nipple, but it's to short by itself. So, I'm going to get a double female and screw it into that, and then I'm going to get a double male and screw the double male into the double female. That should make it long enough to stick out the bottom. So then all I have to do is hook up my remote line to that, instead of carrying a bottle around. I still haven't gotten off my lazy butt and grinded off the "TIPPMANN" thing on the side. This week has just been so busy.. Depending on how that hand guard mounts, I'm going to grind off the flair things that are still there from where I took the front grip off. I took my (somewhat short) sight rail off my other 98 and put it on this one, for when I get a scope. I'll probably just pick up a cheap $10-15 walmart scope. Not paying $80 for a scope that I'll never use.
If you have some more opinions, post them. I'd love to hear them.

I did something similar to my 98. I put a air-thru stock on my gun and use a remote like to the HPA thank.
I thought about putting a scope on my gun, but I just added a sight rail instead. Looks better IMO. I need to make a grip for it, but don't really know how or what to use. I'll post pics sometime.

They are the same marker, just different set ups. The top version is the latest and actually operated off of a disposable 88g that screws into the front of the foregrip. I found the bottom setup to be too short for me. I was simply using the pictures as an example of a couple of ways to go with it. I made both foregrips myself. |

Would you be interested in selling the forgrip? :D Also, how does it mount to the gun?

I made both in two halves and utilized the hole in the receiver in front of the safety. On the passenger side, there are visible holes where bolts are used to clamp the foregrip together. The front has a PVC piece that fits over the barrel. Honestly, I am not even sure if I still have it or not. It may have ended up in the garbage.

OPBN, that U channel on the top may be the coolest design mod I've seen in a long time. Very nice example of clean modding. |

Thank you. It served a couple of purposes. Mainly to make a better platform to mount the tabs for the pistol mag. It couldn't have been too clean, because you figured it out. lol.

I'll just have to experiment with some forgrips. My dad owns a construction company and is pretty good with wood, so I may just make a wood forgrip. I think I'm going to go with a qloader, but I don't know where to put it. I was thinking under the barrel, but then I was thinking I could just use the qloader as my forgrip. Where do you think I should put it? |

**************************UPDATE********************************
Alright, so I've been working on it some. I got the barrel and the stock and installed them. I took a sight rail off my other 98 and put it on this one. I took the two small screws out of the power tube and put a rail on there. You'll see what I'm talking about in the pictures. I cut the flair thing off where the grip use to be and sanded it down smooth. Really that's all I've done so far. Probably going to get a qloader here soon. Which reminds me; you can mount the qloader on a site rail can't you? That's really why I put it there on the power tube is so that I can mount it there an keep it off the top of the gun, and off the barrel. I don't have a stock trigger yet, so I just cut the double trigger I had and made one. I also put a screw into the reciever where I had to punch out the hole for the R/T. You'll see it in the pictures, too. Here's some pictures:
Normally I'd put them all in here, but a link is so much easier considering my brain is onl running at about 5% considering it's midnight.. So here's the link.
Let me know what you think and any suggestions you have. :)
Thanks
