Couple of questions. Should I bring an extra co2 tank? and my gun came with a 9oz tank, should I get a bigger one and if so is it mainly because it will last longer? Thanks in advance for the responses.

You should not honestly need to bring an extra tank, since many places will do re-fills. How ever, if you are just going out in the woods in your backyard, I would recommend buying an extra tank. And I would also have to agree with Ceesman762 with the larger tanks. On my gun (Alpha Black), a twenty oz thank lasted me at least 1000 balls. The bigger the tank, the more air you carry. Drawback is the larger tanks can get a little heavy. But most of all, just remember to have fun out there!

In warmer climates, the smaller CO2 tanks are more likely to overpressurize and blow burst disks. I have 9 oz. tanks but don't actually take anything smaller than a 12 oz. to the field anymore. (With the exception of a 6 oz. I use on one of my pumps . . . and I never put more than 4 oz. in it.

Quick question about your pumps Mack,
how long will the 6oz tank you use last on your pumps? |

^^^ I honestly don't know.
I've never sat down and tested it to see how many shots it gives me. I generally tend to limit my fire when playing pump. (The exception would be the Sniper that I run a 9v Revolution loader and 68/3000 tank on.) Also, I tend to only play a couple of pump games a day and then I alternate pumps and I use either other CO2 tanks or compressed air tanks on the other pumps. (The 6 oz. is used exclusively on a Kingmann Hammer.) The end result is that by the time I run it empty, I really have no idea how many shots I've gotten out of it. Edited Addition: Plus, I have the empty weight marked on all of my CO2 tanks and check them with a fish scale so I usually refill before they're completely empty. (Which means I usually refill the 6 oz. when it gets down to someplace between 1/2 to 1 ounce left.) Edited by Mack - 01 May 2010 at 3:21pm |

A fish scale? and how much weight does the co2 have anyways. Say, a 20oz tank, how much additional weight can one expect?

^^^ um . . . around 20 ounces.
The weight refers to the amount of liquid CO2 that can be safely added to the tank, not the weight of the tank itself. |

So Mack, what you're saying is that you weight it, if it has, say less than 10oz left in the 20oz tank, then you refill it? Where do you refill it? I go to an army/navy store, but i think they charge the same amount regardless of how much co2 is left in the tank when I bring it to them.
