I have an A-5 and am looking to get a remote line, there seem to be a ton of different companies making them and the prices vary alot. I was just wondering what the communities opinion is on remote lines. Should I shell out the extra cash and get a GTA line or go for the cheapest I can find? I read some reviews on them breaking Orings on the CO2 tank which I cant imagin being expencive to fix but correct me if im wrong. Also if I spend the money and get a "higher quality" remote line, am I going to rarely if ever see it break Orings and such?

It doesnt matter which one you choose to get, because All Remote Lines are the same, the only differences is the Price Tag and Name on the Packaging.

Well just looking at one page of amazon I see quick disconnect, slide check, and no-feature remote lines, none of this makes a difference or effects the quality? It seems like reviews say quick disconnects can break O-rings. Also I read about the lines breaking on first or second use, can I expect that same shoddy quality if I pay $40 dollars for a GTA line instead of buying the $15 dollar remote line the reviews are posted on?

I would definitely get a remote line with a slide check, especially if you wear a vest. If you're running CO2, blowing o-rings on your tank is pretty much inevitable because you're always unscrewing it to fill.
There are two kinds of materials that remote lines can be made from that I know of. The first being rubber hose (usually coiled) and this can be a pain for me because I'm always getting it caught on branches and such when I'm playing. The second material (and most convenient in my opinion) is braided steel line. It's not coiled like the rubber line, and very hard to get tangled. I know SpecOps Paintball used to carry these, but I haven't shopped there in a long time. It'd be worth checking out. |

Forget Slide Checks,thats Old Technology.
Look into the Proconnect 3 or the Palmer 2 way Ball Valve. I have the Palmer 2wy Ball Valve and it has never failed me since 2005 http://www.psiworx.com/proconnect3.html http://www.palmer-pursuit.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=21&products_id=116 |

Slide checks can be finicky, but if you oil them well, they work fine. My biggest advise would be see if you know anyone with a spare so that you can borrow it. I found after using one for a short time that I really didnt like it. I found it cumbersome especially if attempting tos switch hands when firing. It's all personal preference though.
