I've played paintball for around 3 years now, but just recently started to customize my 98c. I want to get an expansion chamber, but I have one really important question: will the 98c platinum ex. chamber work on a regular 98c?

In my opinion and experience, you are going to be much better off with using a regulator over the expansion chamber. A Palmer's Stabilizer is perfect for a Tippmann and the performance (once it's broken in) will be just so much better.

And that will work with CO2, correct?

A Palmer's Stabilizer is omnigas, meaning it will function with CO2 or HPA. This way, if you ever decide to go from one to the other, the Stab will handle it.

So say i have a budget, and I can't afford a palmer right now
![]() For the time being, would a remote line work fine? I would rather not have to use a line so I wouldn't have to buy a pack for my tank. But if it's a good alternative I'll probably go that route. |

Putting upgrades on a Tippmann is addictive. The problem with it, though, is that there are a lot of upgrades that just aren't worth the price, such as an expansion chamber. If you can't afford the stabilizer right now, and don't want a remote line in the future, then don't waste the money and save it to get the Stab.
Let's say, though, that you already have a remote line. I still wouldn't recommend placing it on the marker, as your final version is going to be different. This will throw you off just a little bit and will make you have to "retrain" yourself to use the marker. As far as an alternative, there really is no alternative for a regulator. Now, if you are wanting to compare an expansion chamber with a remote line, then yes, they pretty much do the same thing, which is help keep liquid out of the marker. But it won't stop all of it. Well considering I live in Florida, I don't think I have to worry about winter too much. And I plan on having an RT installed within the month. I did look into the Palmer, and it seems like it is very much worth the price of having one. I plan on one day moving to HPA, but for the time being I want to stick with CO2 and since the Palmer can do both, I'm thinking that I will invest in it.

Update: I've looked over the different stabilizers, but I don't know which one to get. Is there any way I could get one that screws straight into the valve, then goes down to the drop forward?

Is there an adapter to go straight into the power tube, or is my only choice through a vertical adapter in the front grip?
