Tippmann Pro-Am help

   About 8 years ago a buddy of mine gave me a tippmann pro am that no longer wokred properly.  The problem with the marker is that when you hook up a Co2 tank it blows the air right out of the gun.  Someone told me years ago that the valve was shot.  I would like to make this marker operational again.  I can get a valve easily and was just wondering if that would fix the problem  thnx
