So i recently purchased a tippmann 98 just stock nuthin fancy its worked good for me and all but im not a big fan of the    Rental/boring looking gun and i saw the tippmann sierra one so what i was wondering would it be cheaper to buy a stock/barrel/magazine for my 98 or just buy the sierra one and have the 98 as a backup

The magazine is a tool storage compartment, just like the alpha black. Anyways, stick with a hopper, it is way more reliable. I have a Rap4 stock I got off Amazon for my tippmann 98, works fine for me. As far as barrels go I suggest a flatline barrel...
I found one on ebay from a registered vender: They have one on now for $69.99, just have to bid. No one usually bids for it, so you save an extra $10! I did the same thing. Or, get a JJ Ceramic from Tippmann Parts.

P.S. the flatline is one of the main reasons besides durability for owning a tippmann.

The stock cost $15 on Amazon, search around on there for it under outdoors.

I think before you buy, you should realize what you want. How many times have you played?

A stock and magazine is going to add unnecessary weight and bulkiness. Kind of annoying on those long games and just walks to the starting point. The tank is used as a stock usually. Are you doing this just for the looks? If you are then the guy above me is helpful.

I would disagree a bit on getting a Flatline barrel right out of the gate. Get some playing time in before you start buying multiple markers and upgrades. The FL barrel takes some tweaking to get just right and can be frustrating for a new player. Stick with a J&J or Lapco barrel for the time being.

Agreed, avoid the flatline at all costs..... get a good 14" barrel (lapco, cp, j&j)

I wouldn't say at all costs, just not as a new player. Lengthi is also a preference. I personally prefer 12" barrels.  No real discernable performance difference above 10-12" that I have noticed or heard of.

Ya, if u r new, you should stick with the j&j ceramic. They are easy to clean in the case of a ball chopping cuz of the internal Teflon coating. Most people are able to shoot just one paintball through to clear out a chop. And stocks aren't just for looks (though it does add to the bad  ACensoredness  of my marker) , they add extra stability, besides using your tank if you have a cover for it, that helps too.

Flatlines are good, you just don't get a straightline barrel's type of accuracy definately....    Thumbs Up
