My Vaio F Series started messing up, neighbor bought it, bought one of these.

Opinions of Asus products in general?

When I got my laptop I wanted a desktop replacement for college that I could still play BF2 on.  But now that I'm 5 years down the road all I want is a thin/light laptop with a long battery life.

If you want a good combo of both, check out the Sony Z series. I think the weigh in at like 3.5 pounds, and have pretty nice power.

I was planning on getting a MacBook Air for school and using my Sony for games, since I don't game much, but it's just giving me problems that I can't fix for the amount that Im paying over what I'm selling it for and getting a better lappy.

When I purchase a laptop I want an SSD in it to hold the OS and applications.

The res is low, but I output to my tv for games anyway. Hardware vs price though, I can't beat it.

Yeah I got the 17.3 in widescreen entertainment laptop from HP. I loved it before I started college, now its a pain sometimes.

I've got a less-expensive ASUS laptop, and the only real problem that I've had is the onboard-webcam doesn't want to work. It really is a great laptop other than that (from what I can tell; I'm definitely not a super tech-savy guy).

I've only used the EEE line of Asus.

It's a tiny little ball of wonder and durability. I don't know about the rest of the things they make.

I used my brother's EEE over winter break, and was amazed.  Surprisingly durable and effective.

I'm definitely going with a smallish (thinking 64 GB right now, maybe end up going larger) SSD for the desktop I'm planning.  They're really pretty incredible.
