Paint Job/ Hello

i am new to the forum but not to paintball.  my homies and i have been playing woodsball for almost ten years now casually.  my current set up is a A5, cp 16" tactical, techt hairpin and drop forward expansion for the gas.  the question i have is this;

i noticed to paint starting to flake on my a5 and like an idiot i started chipping away at it which led to sanding it and now i have a silver marker.   i have two questions  1) what type of metal is the marker housing (body)?   2)  what type of (primer?) and paint do i want to use to re-coat it.

i have a feeling that the og paint job on it is a powder coat which will make it hard to use any old spray paint.  if i can get away with store bought paint that would be awesome because i could take advantage of the situation and hook myself up with a custom camo job!  is there anyone out there who has experience repainting their gun tht can give me some advice?

next game is this sunday so time is a factor!
