Topic: A-5 Air LeaksPosted: 27 June 2011 at 12:52pm |

Okay. Now I have a Tippmann A-5. I had bought it and I have used it and it was fine. It had always functioned perfectly, just the way I had wanted it to. Now yesterday I went to go play a scenario game with my Woodsball unit (L.W Unit) and I begin to hear my A-5 squeak near the top of my air line. The squeaking would intensify until it would stop leaking air and would remain quite. So today I woke up this morning concerned something was wrong with my A-5 I decided to run a maintenance on it to make sure the internals are good and everything. I replace a few O-rings that appear worn out to me and I have the gun with brand new O-rings I re-assembled it carefully to make sure nothing went wrong. I cocked it and fired with no tank attached and everything was as normal. Now I come to put the tank into my gun and air just rushes out of the barrel of my gun. It's a lot of it too. Now I'm a little aggravated and am not sure on what to do next. Any ideas on what the problem may be?

I replaced every O- ring I found on my gun now and I striped it down to the last screw. Every O-ring is replaced and I re-assembled it.

But did you replace the O-ring with a Tippmann OEM part or an after market part?
You did cock the marker before you attached your gas? Edited by Ceesman762 - 27 June 2011 at 4:10pm |

I replaced the O-rings to the right size and using the ones that my Tippmann box brought with it. And yes I did cock it before but regardless it releases air. -__-"

The valve is the silver air line running from the handle to the middle of the gun right? If so, how can that be blown?

I was also testing out the gun while my tank was at a low PSI, I also heard the A-5 releases air when the PSI is too low.

No. that is the gas line and tombstone. They plug into the powertube/valve assembly. Check the schematics in the Customer service area. Call Tippmann back and see what your warranty covers. |
