So I'm lookin at used Tippmanns, preferably those on the 98C platform, but A5s are good too. My question is what would be an average price to expect on one? Especially on the A5.
I know they don't have much resale value, and I see a LOT of 98s on ebay and craigslist for around $70.

In the broad spectrum of bad ideas I think this would have to rate somewhere between running with scissors and sticking your pecker in the toaster.

Usually you can find them on sites like http://www.mcarterbrown.com for ~$70 shipped to your front door on the 98 Custom platform. A-5's tend to go for around ~$180 to ~$200 for the more basic models. The A-5 is newer, and paintball hasn't been experiencing the rapid growth it did in the late 90's/early 2000's which allowed the venerable 98 to saturate the market. Also, used A5's typically carry a lot of upgrades whereas there are still plenty of non-modded 98's out there. Hope that helps!

Oh, and unless you see a great deal on ebay or craigslist, most prices on mcarterbrown.com and other sites include shipping within the contiguous US.

Sweet deal. Thanks tallen. My bro is a cheapskate and wants the best deal he can possible get before he buys his first marker, even though he's a decently (outlaw) experienced player.

If he really wants something cheap, he can put up a WTB (wanted to buy) post in the MCB forums stating what he's looking for, and what price he's willing to pay.

I bought one of my 98C's on ebay used for $25 and my other at Sam's Club for $55 with mask, 9oz CO2 tank, two squadbusters and two barrel.

Oh, and kenvinlee89, no selling on the forum, reported.

I am going to have to disagree on the A5 pricing. I have picked up several A5's with E-grips in the $120 range. Considering you can buy a brand new A-5 basic for $179, 180-200 is pretty steep for a used one unless it is really upgraded. i typically use about 50% of new when figuring used Tippmann prices. It may take some patience, but you should be able to get a used basic A5 for under $100.

Thanks opbn. That's about what I was thinking. Almost got one off craigslist for $65 but someone beat me to it.
Thanks for the forum idea tallen.
