Real or fake?
I've always used fake ones except for one year we decided to go out and cut down a real tree. It was fun going out and cutting it down but after that I missed the fake one. Also...post pictures of your trees if you have them up! |

In the res hall/dorm, the administration is so paranoid about holidays/christmas. There are trees and Christmas music being played all over campus, but in the res hall there is a Christmas tree in the lounge, but the administration doesn't like it and would rather it be taken down. Some of the resident assistants have put up there own trees in places like the bathrooms and the higher ups don't approve of them and are asking for them to be taken down or put up a menorah, because apparently there are only Christians and Jews.

Screw your hippy trees and non-trees! Manly men hike out into the woods* and cut down a piece of mother nature to remind that b**** that despite her best attempts, we're still alive! YOU HEAR THAT NATURE!?!?!? YOU HAVEN'T KILLED ME YET!!!!!!
* Or tree farm if your local ordinances prevent this type of activity in the woods. |

We've always done real. Even with small kids and two retarded cats in the house. We don't have it up yet, that's coming this weekend, but every year I have between 500 and 750 lights on it. No blinkers. Wife hates blinkers.

We always had real trees growing up. Always loved going out and shopping for them. I held out for a few years after getting married, but the wife persuaded me to get an artificial one and I have been quite happy with it. We still have it actually. Probably needs to be replaced, but its works. |

Always had fake trees myself, last tree actually rotated and was pretty awesome until it wore out the year before last. My family did do the real tree one year but mom decided she hated the needles. Now that I am out on my own my "new" family and I have been setting up and decorating a tree the past couple years.

I find that the disassembly / assembly process of the fake ones is more trouble than just disposing of a small to medium sized real one, and I like the real ones better.
That said, for me it's neither. I don't decorate for Christmas.
