Topic: Flatline vs BoomstickPosted: 07 June 2004 at 2:33pm |

Ive finally gotten sick enough of my stock barrel to do somthing about it. I've narrowed it down to a flatline or a boomstick, but i was wondering if anyone had any input.

What do you play? Speedball, in tourneys, woodsball? What kind of paint do you use?

Well....i bought a flatline and its pretty nice IF it is set up right, and IF you have smaller bore paint (marbalizer). I recently went out and bought a 14" SP progressive, and it is really really nice. i would suggest boomstick, unless you play very open fields, or deep woods. if you just play speedball, and recball, i would suggest the flatline. -Sniper- p.s. Flatline is a very high-maintinance gun, just so you konw. |

I own 2 different barrels, the Flatline and the 8inch Bigshot. 2 great barrels offering something different. The Flatline is the only barrel that adds distance to your shot and has good accuracy. The bigshot has better accuracy and will use a wide variety of paint because it is medium bore. I perfer the flatline but that is my opinion. You will get mixed reviews about most barrels so the decision is up to you. |

The Flatline isnt a gun, and it isnt high-maintinance. At first it might take a bit to set it up, but after you get used to it, you can do itr really easy. That is if you have a 98. If you have an A-5 it is even easier to install and use. |

Oh geez, the flatline ISNT a gun? and it ISNT high maitinance? First of all, i konw a flatline isnt a gun dumb <poopy>, second of all yeah, it takes alot of work to keep working right. if you bump it, you have to take the whole thing apart and line it up again. if a ball breaks, you have to take the whole thing apart and squeegie it making sure there is NOTHIGN left in the barrel. so yeah, it IS high maitinance

1. you should squeegie all barrels till there is nothing left for best performance. 2. If you bump it the barrel shouldn't shift or you have not tightened the clamp down enough. Dominance comes with a price, and the same applies to a flatline and they are dominant. Edited by Rambino |

Actually the flatline is a gun, however it is very much inferior to tippmann's.

If you know it isnt a gun then why did you call it that in the first place? You know nothing about the flatline... If you bump it, it doesnt move and you dont have to take it a part just to get it straight.(unless you are to stupid to tighten the clamp.) Also you dont have to take the barrel apart just to squeegie it. Its called a stick squeegie (http://countypaintball.com/product_description.asp?item=840) that works great in it and you dont have to take the barrel apart. Edited by Rambino |

From one flatline owner to another, anybody who has never used one will never understand that there is no real difference in upkeep, only performance. When ppl dont take care of the stuff they have, they'll wrongly critize a flatlines upkeep. Give up on Sniper, argueing wont change his mind. Edited by Rambino |

i have to agree with the hoff. i own a flatline and love it i havent had any breaks yet and ive shot 2000 balls out of it so far. its no more maintance than any othere barrel... if you break a ball you have to clean it just like any other barrel and as long as everything on your gun is hooked up right and working properly you should get any more breaks than other barrels
