Depends on what your looking for.  If your looking for long distances then get the flatline.  hands down its the long distance champ.  If you just looking for a barrel upgrade from stock then get the other one.

pros on Flatline.   DISTANCE DISTANCE DISTANCE and accurate once you learn how to shoot with it.  Easy to install if its for the A-5

Cons.  Likes only good quality paint.  No cheap walmart paint for this barrel.  Unless your using superswirl.   Steep steep learning curve.  It takes a lot of practice to learn how to shot a flatline.  Hard to install if its for the 98c.

Other than that there isn't anything

the 14 inch will be just like anyother barrel.

The flatline is the only barrel that adds distance to your shot.  It also has good accuracy.

The 14inch barrel... well that leaves it open to a lot of things.   Some barrels like the Bigshot will have great accuracy, but others like the TIppmann sniper barrel suck.  So I suggest either getting a 8 13 or 14inch Bigshot.  Length is just a prefence.

So length doesn't really affect the accuracy or range?

no length dosent really affect the accuracy or range, but if you have the lapco bigshot or the j&j ceramic it can help your accuracy.

NO NO NOOOOO!!! NEVER, well, except if it is 1.5" long.  Get the FL, but if you are willing to spend that much, you might want to look at a Freak Kit.

Just shoot yourself and save me the trouble.

Well it depends what 14" barrel your talking about and what you play.

The Flatline is the only barrel that will add distance, and it adds a lot, but with that distance you get several problems like added complication with barrel breaks, you have to always use small bore paint, and you can't shoot at weird angles. This is best for playing in the woods since it gives a flat tregectory to your paintbalils and adds distance.

If you want a regular barrel I would go for a Lapco Bigshot, I have one and am more than happy with it, very accurate. The Bigshot is better if you play speedball or a mix of speedball and woodsball since you can still shoot at weird angles and you get very good accuracy.

As long as te barrel isnt shorter than 8inches or longer than 14inches it will have the same accuracy as the longer barrels of its kind.

Like my 8inch Bigshot is just as accurate as the longer Bigshots.

And the Flatline is the only barrel that adds distance to your shot.

If you have the 98 custom get a 12 or 14 inch Lapco Bigshot!

If you have the A-5 get the flatline!

It depends on what barrel you are talking about.  The Tippmann sniper barrel... yes it is just a longer stock barrel.  But if you ge a 14inch Bigshot... its has great accuracy.

That makes no sense.  The Flatline for the 98 is just as good.  Its just longer and takes a bit longer than the A-5 to set up.

pros:     okay first of all the flatline is not picky on paint. fer just seeing how fast i can shoot in my back yard i just use cores. there 35 bucks a case  and i shoot like 14 bps. not one break. the flatline is deadly accurate. i was playing with a whole bunch of people and this person peeked out of a tree and i shot one time and nailed him right goggles. and when i was playing with my dad, i shot one shot at 75 yd and it hit him right in the neck. i dunno but by personal experience i would suggest the flatline.

cons: installation the FIRST time. now i can take it off and put it back on in 2 minits. still thats quiet a bit longer that 10 seconds but hey, everything has cons.

conclustion: this barrel is awesome once you get the right velocity and the right twistige on the barrel, you know what i am talking about if you have one, when you turn the barrel to make it shoot straighter. but i have it marked with white out so i know where to put it when i put it back on. lemme tell you that the pros far outweigh the cons!!!

if you play woodsball and need to shoot long distances then get the flatline. if ur playn' speedball get a 12" barrel (same amount of accuracy of 14" just makes it a little easier to manuever) barrels i reccomend are: lapco bigshot, Custom Products one-pice, dye ultralite, or the freak barrel kit.

good luck!

Alright here we go.  I did some thinking and this is what I came up with.  Get them both.  Your going to need another barrel besides the Flatline.  The Flatline is a great barrel I love mine.  But there will be a time you wont be able to use high quality paint and will need another barrel.  There isn't much wrong with the stock barrel to tell you the truth.  If you get a really good barrel to paint match the stock barrel is pretty accurate.  It likes really big bore paint I have found.  I stop using my stock barrel long ago tho.  But if you buy a flatline get another barrel as well.  you will need two.
