    Posted: 06 August 2004 at 8:21pm
Okay, I am in the midst of painting my gun, and I wanted to do a fade color. with a red to black fade.  I am curious how to do the fade, and if anyone has pics on a red to black fade they have done if i could see them. I can see how much easier it would be to use to colors close to each other, but to colors completly different.......  thanks

I don't want my gun to look like crap once i get it done if the fade doesn't look right

the easiest way would be to use an airbrush, and smoothly lessen the amount of red/black being sprayed onto the opposit color.

well I figured out what I will do. lay one coat of black down. all over the gun, and then add the red to the front of it, giving it a fade.. how will that work, or look?

a fade is when the opacity or "thickness" of one layer decreasses or increasses over another layer.  good luck, how i would do it is by starting with the can closer to the marker, but when you want to start the fade pull it away slowly.

personally

i suggest not using spray paint, or paint.

the real way to change the color is using some crazy acid stuff, that u dip it in..... long proceess, and then u have a dif color with no extra stuff on teh outside. although that is pricy, and is illegal to do with out a permit.

Jesus- the way to go.
planning to get ion
