Well, see, I don't know anything about mountain bike companies. I've also noticed that we have a couple of bike enthusiasts (cough*youm0nt*cough).

Anyway, I needed some help finding a new bike. Nothing too expensive, or expensive at all for that matter. I need it to have a nice ride and all but mainly to be low-to-no maintenence and very durable. Thanks...

Mostly trails, but I will sometimes ride for one or two miles on pavement with my sister.

I'm not that crazy. I might jump off a three of four foot dried up river bank. I usually find my limits on stuff then never go to them again.

hmm a cross country bike with a front suspenion fork should be fine for you.do you ride in wet/muddy/sandy conditions?if so and you think rim brakes arent doing their job, check out disc brakes.

id recommend getting a bike from a bike shop.they usually give you lifetime adjustments and maintenance etc.and bike shop peopel are usually smarter and have good mechanics

my bike shop gives you:
-100% Satisfaction Guaranteed, Period
-Free Lifetime Adjustments on Bicycle Purchases
-Double the Manufacturer's Warranty on Frame, Fork, and Components
-Fit Guarantee on Bicycle Purchases
-Free 30 Day Bike Check-Up and Comfort Evaluation
-Certified Bicycle Fit Technicians
-Certified Service Technicians
-Rewards Club Membership
-Home Delivery Service
-Free New Bike Owners Clinics

I do ride in wet/muddy stuff somtimes.

This is what I've collected:

  • Hardtail
  • Front Suspension
  • Disc Brakes

Now I need a good name that I can trust. I was impressed witht the Norco's but found out that there isn't a dealership within 4 hours of me. My mom says I can't order it online because of what happened to my Shocker (stolen out of UPS box).

I just checked out my local bike shops info, and they have Cannondale, Giant, and Haro. Are any of those good brands?
