ok well i got his computer from a friend of my moms and it isnt too bad, not too good but w/e it was free. Anyways when i turned it on it just went to a plain purple screen. she said that if i let it sit for a long time it will adventualy start up but it runs REALLY slow. i got into safe mode and did a disk clean up and defragmented it but that did nothing.
Does anyone know what could be goin wrong? if ya do then it would be greatly appreciated if you post how to posibaly fix it. Thanks!! P.S its a HP Pavilion 4440 |

What OS?
You might want to reload it, regardless of the answer. Just to clean all of her data and programs off so you can start with your own fresh little install. |

Yeah, reloading the system software would be my suggestion. Just sounds like a software problem to me.
