Sounds pretty typical.

Towns are total nazis about skateboarding anymore.

there are 25+ cops in a very small town... there are like 3 or 4000 people here. WAY to many cops. Josh was right!

Thats why you run from cops.

I used to skateboard and this was also a major problem, we used to just run away from them.

Thats a typical small town thing. Let me guess, they also pull over out of towners and teenage drivers for absolutely everything and search their cars for drugs?

Theres a small town by me that does that. I got stopped once for having my dome light on while i was driving, and they made me stand in the freezing cold while 4 cops and 2 dogs went through my car looking for drugs.

That's what they do here. My brother got a ticket for no seatbelt (which was ligit), but the next day, the same cop pulled him over to see if the person sitting in the middle seat of his truck was wearing a seatbelt (he and the other passenger were). THat is harassment(sp). I bet they guy that arrested those kids was young. It's always the young one that are uptight.

Dude... why did you give them consent to search?

Unless if the officers had propible cause, they had no right to search your car... A dome light is not probible cause for a drug search...

They pulled you over for a dome light being on whilst you were driving... the worst they could do for that is write you a ticket...

You could have probibly gotten those officers in deep dog doo if you would have complained to their supervisers in the right manner...

"the children's irate parents said yesterday." -That comment right there makes the entire article invalid... (Ever notice how irate parents tend to over react and "bend the facts in their favor"?)

THat is harassment(sp). Uhh... no... guess again... The only way it could have been harassment was if the officer forced the driver or passenger's door open... The officer was doing nothing more than seeing if the riders of the vehicle were complying with the law. If they wern't he will slap you with an outrageously high fine for a small/insevere offence... But seriously, the officer pulled you over on suspicion (jesus kills a kitten every time I mispell a word... oops...)... That IS legit...

I bet they guy that arrested those kids was young. It's always the young one that are uptight. Not always... It varies on the individual offencier (har har har) (try using that word next time you talk to a cop... they dont like that...). Those damn "DARE" (Drug abuse something or other, some kind of anti drug program, or something)  officers are as uptight as... something really uptight.. seriously... so are school RSOs (resource officers)... they dont let ANYTHING past... they'll freak out, yell, mace you, and cuff you for the dumbest things.

Most importantly - People suck.

Because i dont screw around with small town cops. They probably would have pulled some crap and found a way to arrest us on something. Who knows...

Besides, i didnt have anything illegal in the car, i figured "sure ill let this dude go through my stuff and well be gone in 5 minutes"

Instead he calls in backup and it took like 45 minutes.

Ive had good experiences with some cops, and others are just horrible. My town seems to have a lot of idiot cops. My car broke down once at the bottom of a hill, i couldnt push it by myself in rush hour traffic with people speeding past. A motorcycle cop came past, pulled a u-turn and got behind me with his lights on so i could get out of my car without getting killed. I pushed the thing off into a parking lot, and he walks up and starts being completely rude. I thanked him for his help and he snaps out "Hold on kid i want to see your license and registration" and spends about 20 minutes checking my stuff out.

Enos, man, it's standard procedure for the officer to check your lisence, registration, insurance, and possible warrants any time they pull you over, or if they are called to your residence; and what-not...

If they find a warrant out on your name, they arrest you... They do it for a reason... Besides... you never know what you can catch with a simple, routine traffic stop (Timmothy Mcveigh was caught on a traffic violation, so were bonnie and clyde)

Most importantly - People suck.

Yeah but it wasnt a traffic stop, it was just helping someone out.

The funny thing was about that car search, i had literally so much trash in the back of my car it was level with the back seat. The trunk was full of power tools because i had been helping a friend build a speaker box. Thats probably what took so much time, but they were taking their sweet time. They put the dog in my car like 5 times. They would shove it in, it sniffed around and just hopped back out, and they capt pushing it back in.

What tards, I've had nothing but good experiences with cops in my city, its not a huge city or anything but it isnt a small town either, been pulled over 5 times and ticketed only once, the other 4 times i just got off with warnings on very minor stuff and some of it wasnt even my fault because the vehicle wasn't mine, but even the bike cop who wrote me a ticket was pretty cool. Every time they check my info and stuff and see that i've been driving quite awhile with no tickets they are generally cool and let me go.

I haven't had any problems with rude cops yet which is awesome, everytime I got pulled over I could have been given a ticket but they decided to let me go.

But all 5 times I was in a truck/suv, we'll see what happens when I get pulled over in my Stang or my Challenger, im sure they will be jerks to me then.

Enos, the dome light time was when you asked them to give you your zippo back if they found it right? Good stuff. Anyway, I haven't had too many experiences with police, but so far they've been good. We do a pie in the face thing here, and a cop volunteered, so he got hit with 12 pies. That was sweet.

Your not a legit skater unless you make the cop chase you down on your board. If you are still green, it is okay to run on foot.
