I envy you. Today it got up to 90 degrees on Maui.
![]() But when I was in the 7th grade, my bus came and the water was comming down so hard the water was about at my ankles. It rained all day like that, they almost closed school. Another time when I was in the 6th grade, we got hit by a storm with winds that almost blew us down (I think they were around 50 mph). I wouldnt have been surprised if it hailed (something that doesnt exactly happen everyday here). The power went out a few times, and students were told to remain in their classrooms all after lunch. My brother's highschool evacuated when parts of thier cheaply made cafeateria roof started flying off. |

Um....yeah. This one time I was hangin out with this girl, and it started raining really hard. She wanted to go out side because apparently she likes rain. We were out there for like 5 minutes or so, and then she realized she was wearing a white t-shirt.

About couple of years after I was born, my town was hit by one heck of a spring storm. All of the snow melted off the mountains, and the rain jacked up the rivers really heavily. The resulting flood tore the stream bank behind my house away, to the point where between the now raging river and the corner of my house, was a distance of a mere 8 feet. I live on a dead end road, and below us, the river tore out culvert pipes, and roads, flooded plains, and knocked out bridges. We were, in essence trapped. There was 4 feet of water in our basement, and 2 on the road in front of the house. ......Several years later, it happened again, not quite as severe, but I remember that one MUCH better. |

Meh. Once had 4 inches of standing water in my yard.. in the elevated part. Parts of the yard hit closer to a foot, we were building barricades at the doorstop of our shed.
Then there was the time I went into my pool during Hurricane Irene to pick up branches that had fallen in (no screen at the time) and lightning started up again. Real fun, it's incredibly cool to look up at a hurricane from the bottom... even if it is a piddling little storm, it's still cool. |
