Electric or Acustic is that just for the guitar, or does the 100 include an amp? |

to be honest man your not gonna get anything good for $100, if you could bump it up to about $200 bucks, that would help somewhat.

Look around for used guitars at your local music stores. Sometimes you can get good deals on decent guitars that have been traded in.

I have 2 electrics, A fender american standard, and a homemade one that me and my dad built.
I also have to acoustics, an epiphone, and a takamine. In my opinion get an acoustic, you dont need an amp and they are louder. Once you get good enough to actually be in a band or something then buy an electric. A good acoustic for a hundred is a yamaha. Check musiciansfriend.com |

I second the motion that squires in general suck, and that model is the low of all squires. Look for a used guitar, you could possibly get a 200-250 guitar for a little over 100 bucks.

As with anything, you basically get what you pay for. There is no good guitar under $100.
The Squier is prolly your best bet. |

Squiers are absolutely terrible. Spend $350 and get a standard Fender Stratocaster or Telecaster.

Except that doesn't even come close to fitting the parameters of his question. If you wanna be helpful, give him a better suggestion within his price range. |

Honestly... I can't reccommend a good/ decent/ or even acceptable guitar for 100...
As others have already said, do yourself a favor and start with an acoustic... They might not be what you're looking for, but it will help later down the road... I'd reccommend saving up and going for something with a little more quality... In all seriousness, the acoustic advertised by Esteban on infomercials actually looks alright... If you could get another 100 or so, you could get that... And it's acoustic/ electric with an amp... |
