Eagle scout ceremony yesterday

So... as some of you know, I completed all the schtuff for my eagle scout rank a while ago.  Well, finally yesterday we had my ceremony.  It was by far one of the coolest eagle ceremonies that our troop has ever put on and it was all my idea!  It was held at dusk by a fire.  it was rad.

It made me realize how good it feels to finish something you started.  I think back to when i was at day camp and carving bars of soap.  To where i am now organizing work groups and creating a presentation that will be used in elementary schools. 

Oh well... just needed to share... oh yeah... $350 aint too shabby either

the troop i joined sucked hard, so I quit a few years back.

Awesome. I'm gonna be shooting for Eagle this year.. hopefully I make it.

If I hit Eagle and get all my stuff for college paid for, my dad gives me $10K (my current college fund) towards a car. But that's ONLY if all of my college stuff is paid off.

Congrats man!

Eagle is an awsome thing.  I have only seen two scouts become Eagle and the amount of work they put into it was unbelivible.

I still have a bit to do, but I should finish soon.

I quit after 8 or 9 years (2 beavers, 4 or 5 cubs and 2 scouts) because all we were doing is knots and games.

I think I have all 3 palms. If I get two more merit badges, I get another Bronze, but I don't have any time + I'm lazy. I got my Eagle, give me a break, lol.

Right there. That really is a great thing.

The first week of this month I was at the "Michigan State Police Student Trooper Program." It was only a week, but it was my entire life for that week. Every day woke up at 5 AM and went to bed at 10 PM. It was the most demanding thing I have ever done in my life physically and mentally.

At the graduation for that I felt a similar feeling as you did, an awesome sense of accomplishment. Its the first time I have cried in years. I was so happy. I finished off top in marksman ship in my class.

My family was really proud too. My dad is a cop, and he is one of the best shooters in his department.


Congrats on your accomplishment. I know yours took a lot more time than mine . Very few people get as far as you have.

Just curious, I heard if you were to go in the army, and you were an eagle scout, you get/have/do something less or more. I don't know, like you get paid more, or you don't have to train as much in basic. Ever heard of anything like that?
