Hey! Yeah, another thread of me **edited**in' about my life, deal with it! Just got word from the lawyer today that the guardian enlightum(<sp?) decided against my grandfather gaining guardianship over me, so that pretty much screwed my plans for going to school this year. If only I was eleven months older, then I'd be 18 and none of this would be of an issue because I could enroll myself in school and my parents could lick my balls. So lets see here... May-left home, moved in with best friend for last 2 weeks of school, quit work June-finished my junior year, moved in with my grandpa the same day, started therapy, finally got my license, started looking for new job July-continued therapy, continued job hunting, got my Reatta, became 4 grand in debt, turned 17, got a girlfriend, lost that girlfriend, got a new girlfriend August-ended therapy when parents essentially said to hell with me, began guardianship legal process, still looking for a job after turning in countless applications and having no luck all summer, rolled my beloved Reatta, got out of debt, my aunt is hospitalized after a serious horse accident, hit another major obstacle in my legal fiasco, didn't start school for my senior year like planned... but I still have my lovely Nicole! Now...I can either go back home and return to my old school(<not happening), I can stay where I am and sit out a year from school(<good possibility), or I can find a legal loophole(<hopefully) I'm now considering all out emancipation which will take too long for school purposes, or I just thought of this today, I can call my really father and see if he can sign the enrollment papers for me. I haven't talked to my real dad in quite a few years so it'd be interesting to see what he'd say. But my summer has been one dramatic happening after another, if someone would have followed me around with a camera crew, it'd make for one hell of a movie, lol. |

I'd call your real dad. I'll bet he would support what your doing, if your posts in any way reflect your current situation.

well im in only half ur sitiation. My mom served my dad the papers and that was in jan. Then my dad tries to lead me over to his side. Then i find out that the way i was livin was not good. Im goin to move with my mom but my dad just lost his job for lookin up porn on his work computer. So the divorce is goin to take longer and my mom will get less money from my dad. My dad works for one of the big 3 and he is in the union, he says he is getting his job back ( i dont think he is). So i find out that getting hit and screamed at for not being able to do somthin right is not how most people live. i will give u an example, he tells me to get a screw driver (by the way i was like 12) so i run to the tool box and say what kind, he just starts yelling at me cause i didnt know that he wanted a flat headed screw driver, so he walks me over still yellin he pics up the one he wanted and is screaming the way to do it. Then i do it again and he finds the one he wants and proceeds to hit me with it or just throw it at me. So now im seeing a counsler but my dads insurance just ran out i cant go anymore , unless my mom pays for it but that would be alot of money. So thats how my life was untill my mom said that she couldnt take it anymore. So i got a job and hardly talk to my dad but the divorce is not final yet and i dont know when it will be.

At 16 you can get consent from parents/guardians to leave school. |

You might look into foregoing your final year of scholl and trying for a GED. Not much fun, but it would give you a high school diploma(or equivelant, anyway). That might make job hunting easier.

Hey! Thought about the GED because if I went that route, I could start college now. But I'd rather finish high school not only for the actual diploma...but because it'd be my senior year. Sentimental crap... I don't know...my dad lives with my grandparents so I called and talked to my grandpa[not the one i live with] about it, and he's gonna talk to his lawyer and get back to me ASAP. But if my dad can't sign for me...then my options are to either sit out a year then go back when I'm 18 and able to enroll myself, or to go get a GED and go from there. I just can't seem to catch a break. |

Of course, my situation is not as bad as yours, but I do know how you feel, kind of. For a person who is counting on excelling through school and has made plans for several years accordingly, the stuff I went through was the end of MY world, and having had my parents break up or something else wouldn't have changed much, since at that point I'd stopped caring about anything. Didn't start again until about halfway through summer. It can and will get better, we just can't say when. Of course, it could be worse: you could have been Job (I advise you to read that regardless of what you believe. He had some serious, serious crap to deal with and stayed happy. Just a thought. Don't take this as me pressuring you into anything; I don't intend it that way.) Anyway, I'll continue praying for you and hope to hear a positive update soon. Good luck. Edited by AdmiralSenn |
