Me and my friend just came up with this idea and we're gonna try it soon. ITs gonna be a red dot sight on top of his tippmann 98, and it is going to be activiated when you pull the trigger to a certain point (before it fires) so it isnt on all the time

If it actives when you pull the trigger than you would only see the sight after you fire..

you should hook a trigger to the front grip and have it there.  I tried it once, but failed at to actually get on my gun.  Maybe you guys will have better luck.

Idea for this have a micro switch that is depressed half way through the trigger pull.  This switch should be spliced into the power wires of the sight.  The sight is left on so that when the switch is depressed it will finish the circet and will turn on the sight

Yeah, what CrazedLoon said, we will have a small piece of coat hanger wire (or the like) that sticks thorugh the little hole  behind the trigger, and when it is pushed it will push a button that will complete the circuit between the sight, battery and switch. But this rod will be "tripped" before the actual round is fired.

P.S. I got the idea from the nerf gun. Its the big silver one with the side-cocking handle :)

sounds like you cant aim until you pull the trigger... why dont you just carry extra batteries?

yea, the only way that would be pratical is if you line up your shot before shooting the ball, or else your first shot will be usless. Cool idea though.

They already make something like that. It is a lazer pointer with a touch pad on the trigger. Whenever your finger is on the trigger, it points.

Guys, the laser would be activated BEFORE you depress the trigger far enough to release the sear and fire a single shot. Thus if you pulled the trigger halfway down the gun would not fire, but the red dot sight would come on. It would be great for those of us who dont have trigger pulls less than a mouse click... Like me for instance, my trigger pull is stock, thus, I can pull the trigger quite a distance before the gun fires. So this would be useful. If your trigger pull is extremely short, this would not work. Come in useful, because it makes it easier for you to not give away your position. And in woodsball, that is pretty important.
