Ok, so I've had my M98 for a year now after my dad decided it would be cool to use the Angel for himself only... Anyway, its got a Freak Jr. barrel on it and it does pretty well. I have a trade in deal from a local shop for an Automag 68 Classic with 9oz CO2 and 2 Dye barrels for my gun, barrel, and 9oz CO2. Should I do it? I know that Automags are far more customizable than M98s but I hear that they dont perform so well on CO2 and the store where we fill up only has CO2. My dad always has to drive 30 minutes to fill up his tank heh. So what do yall think?

Id take the automag. Also I would think your dad would have to use a nitro or compresed air tank for his angel. Id grab an hpa tank so you and your dad could have both your tanks filled at the same time.

even though I'm a newbie to paintball I would go with the 98, if you can, try to get a custom cause I have an m98 and to get any not a good gun without it upgrade like a Response trigger you have to retro-fit it.

Ask them if you can shoot the Mag. See how you like the trigger. See how you like the feel of the smaller marker. I have both M98 and a CF Mag with the classic valve. I have a HPA tank but there is no place to fill around my area. I use CO2 on the Mag, but I have an A/S tank and I put the stock reg off of my Cocker on it. With a exp chamber I would sometimes freeze up but, with the reg I havn't had any problems yet.

Buddy of mine got an Automag a little over 10 years ago. I hated going up against him with my Pro/Am which I purchased around the same time. His Automag was just way too quiet. I could never get a fix on him if he took potshots at me in the woods. All I would hear was the sound of the paintball zinging past me if he missed. Very unnerving. The only thing he's added onto it is an expansion chamber. It's still a great and upgradable marker after all this time. I'd really consider the Automag if I were you.

There are more upgrades for a 98 than a 68 Mag.

i would try and find a better deal, 68's arent the best and there are
barely any upgrades. look for an e-mag or a-mag (my favorite) but i woul go with an automag over tippy.

Automags are nice guns. I've owned a few. They are compact and snappy at the trigger. Other than that though there is not much to them. They excel in their simplicity.
