Is it speedball or woodsball? For speedball I use alot of junk stuff around the house for bunkers: old plywood, tin, crossties, garbage cans, fallen trees and logs, leftover siding from houses, bricks and cement blocks, hay bales, old screen doors( they make interesting bunkers), 55gal drums, old cable spools, big pipes, etc. Use the natural landscape to your advantage. Most of this stuff you can find around your house or your neighborhood. Be creative and try different combinations of things. Try drawing it out on paper first.

For woodsball: we use a lot of the things listed above, but mostly we us the landscape; especially dry creekbeds and old shooting houses. Hope this helps.

NASA and the Americans spent millions of dollars and hundreds of hours to develop a pen that would write in space.....The Russians used a pencil.

use bad hay from horse owners in bales and if the gun velocity isn't too hoigh the rounds shouldn't go through. or just use wood and the stuff others suggested, but hay is really cheap if the people don't want it.

Go to a construction site like clayton1 said. Housing developments that are still being built are the best for free lumber, sometimes they over-order a job and just trash perfectly usable 2x4s and plywood.

Bounty, do you know how much the paintball netting a lot of places use, costs? I was going to buy some, but I heard it's really expense and you have to buy it in huge quantities...

Yeah, I use tarps now for my backyard shooting range (I think Home Depot sells them for like 5 bucks for a 40 square footer), but I think it be a lot easier and less maintenance to use the netting. Of course, the price thing...

Yeah tarps are better! What good is paintball netting if you don't have money to buy paintballs.

Just use your imagination. Make it as unique as you can. The nice thing about making your own field is you can try out any of those 'Man, it would be cool if...' ideas you've had in the past.

Yup, he actually said that.
