my friends gun (98c) has a major leak. it only leaks when u shoot though. like, every time u shoot, air comes out of the barrel and out from where the hose enters the gun. i thought maybe the hose wasnt tight enough, but if that was the case, wouldnt it leak even when ur not shooting? And also, when u start shooting a lot, the gun and tank get noticibly too cold. thanks for ur help!
i hate paintball

tell him to put some teflon tape on the threads of the hose and make sure its tight.  When c02 comes out the barrel, thats normal, it means he needs a expansion chamber but thats no big deal, when you shoot fast its normal to get a cold tank and cold gun

Don't use Teflon tape, it gets in the threadsd and gucks it all up.  Use Lock tite, or Leak Lock.  Both are the same thing.

About the tool, i dont know so i can't help you there.

well, pull out the tool box, find the correct size wrench, or use channel locks, then take it off, add BLUE Locktite so you can break it loose with out heat when u need to agian, then screw it back it tight, the locktite will settle it in about 20 minutes. if it conutines to leak, its just a valve leak, or a bad hose, the barrel and tank and gun being cold is normal.

hmmm..."it gets in the threadsd" im pretty sure thats what its SUPPOSED to do, and gucks it up.... as opposed to locktite not "gucking it up"?

he means it breaks up and gets into the gun, which clogs it up inside and ext...ext...locktite is a liquid form type that adapts itself to the threads and then drys and locks it.

Put a few drops of oil in the asa , see if that stops the leak , then get back with us in maintenance and repairs , I found when I replaced my valve in the 98C , it had a LOT of "Gunk" at, and in the valve from the factory,it wasnt funny , new valve, and Teflon tape is fine , but dont cover any other portion of your connections with it ,just the threads . doesnt sound like you have a hose leak , or it would be coming out all the time .
