Probably accidental, but you double-posted.

Definitely 98 custom. Durable, reliable, upgradable, pretty accurate right out of the box. Plus Tippmann has excellent customer service.

Countypaintball.com would be the best place to make your purchase. It has low prices matched with excellent customer service.

     I personally got the A-5 and I like it, but if you want a gun under $200 (the A-5 was around $250 or so), the 98C is a very good choice.  There are reasons so many fields use them as the rental guns (and not just because they're inexpensive); they are extremely durable and extremely upgradeable.  If you end up sticking with this new hobby of yours, you can updrade it to a quite respectable gun; however, if your newfound interest turns out to be a passing fad and you quit after a year or so, you'll only be out $200.  Here's an analogy:

Angel = Ferrari

Autococker = Porsche

Tippmann 98C = Honda Civic

Phantom pump = an old Chevy Impala

     Hmmm . . . by this analogy, I wonder what would best represent the A-5?

tippmann would be a good gun to start with seeing then u learn the basics, and stuff, and their a good price, you never get problems with them, one can be ran over by a semi and still come up firing...granted their not fast, and not light, but just learn, get better, then upgrade guns to a high end marker....when ur ready, and u will know when ur ready.

i would say a mitubishi evo 9 with nitrous - if it comes with r/t
if it moves it becomes a target

and snipers don't exist in paintball!! get that in your heads people!!

i would say the 98 Custom with a 14" J+J Ceramic barrel. that would be very accurate. id get the 14" barrel later after you get used to your gun first. good luck and i would get this at either www.countypaintball.com or www.pbgear.com. they're both good sites. good luck with your new gun!!! also welcome to the forums.

Ill be the first to vote for the Pro/Carbine as it is better out of the box for accuracy than the 98c and is easire to clean/maintain.  It is also Even more durable/reliable than the 98c.

The carbine also requiers little modification to perform really well in either speed or woods.

I personally have owned both a heavily upgraded 98c and my Current Pro/Carbine and hands down say the carbine performs better.

For the camo part of it, in my opnion I think it's just a waste of money. The black 98c blends in with the woods just as a camo would, just not as well.

Tippmann 98 Custom w/ an All American barrel is the best gun to start with, IMHO. You can upgrade later if you want, but that will keep you set for a few months.

I got an expansion chamber, powerfeed, rocket cock, PMI perfect dropforward, and 12v revolution after a while.

I might have a picture of mine lying around... I probably put $250 into it.

the 98c is a great gun to start out with. there are almost endless upgrades. the camo paintjob, in my opinion, is a waste, but if it's what you want. once you get used to the gun upgrade to a different barrel. 14" J&J is pretty good.

Try to scrounge together 20 more bucks and get the A-5. Getting a marker is an investment. Make a choice you won't regret.

PM me so that I can send you the link of an Ebay seller that sells the A-5 for $214.95.

The A-5 would probably be a Honda S2000 (with a Spoon engine) or an Acura NSX.

Pro-Carbine is a good suggestion. We have one on our team and its pretty darn accurate right out of the box. My only dislike is the hard trigger pull, but I think once you get the feel of the trigger it becomes easier to fire.

Or the 98C with a 14" JJ or bigshot barrel
