whats better for a newbie-intermediate player, with only $200-250, a tippy 98c or the new Spyder Imagine? i already asked a friend that has played for many years and being the idiot that he is said i should get the new autococker for like $1500. i guess thats wut i get for asking an idiot, but he aslo suggested the 98c because he owned a Spyder for a while but it continually broke on him, but only in the middle of the game strangely

also what would be the best things to upgrade first

Sypders are much better for speedball than tippmanns.  There upgrades are better for speedball as well.  Lets see I would say get the Fenix Acs or the imange.  Add a T-board which comes with dual breakbeam eyes tournmeant lock and its uncapped, it costs 65 dollars.  Then add 25 gram switch which is about 5 dollars.  Then a new trigger check it products sweet spot 25 dollars.  Then you have a kick ass sypder that I would take any day over a tippmann.

Now if you cant maintain a sypder your an idiot its not hard.  Dont throw them in the mud and it will work.  For maintice just take out the bolt make sure its clean in there then oil the o-rings on the bolt.  Then put a couple of drops in the asa and dry fire.  OO my gosh that was so hard....

i would say if he cant maintain a gun very well to go with the 98c with a 12" or 14" J+J Ceramic. then it'd be accurate, and VERY durable for him. if you have an extra 20 bucks or so you can get the double trigger also. good luck.

DO NOT GET A SPYDER. Imagines are alright, but i'd way rather have a tippmann than a spyder anyday. My old spyder broke all the time, and when i got my carbine, it was awsome.

Why does he have to get the tippmann just because he's on the tippmann forum?

But yeah seriously, get the tippmann.

I agree with Bazooka Joe, an a-5 would be better than the other two choices by far.

I have a Spyder Imagine and a 98 Custom so I pretty much know what im talking about. My Spyder has broken down once in the 6 months I have had it and my 98 has never broken down. The reason the spyder broke was my fault and it was easily fixed just like most of the other problems Spyders have. Just keep it in good condition and it will treat you good. So just get the Spyder its faster and very simple to maintain.
