    Posted: 22 November 2004 at 10:51am

I'v been looking for a solid stock for my 98c for a long time now (a cheap one).  I have had my sights set on the F/X solid stock, but I have come across the other solid stock for the 98 which is about half the price.

If someone could post their gun with the stock(s) mounted on them so I can compare the two, that would really help alot.  I don't want to buy the cheaper one if it looks stupid on the marker.

Thanks in advance.

A friend of mine has the car stock on his 98c, it looks ok and feels ok "without the mask, but with the mask on....ferget it", unless you like holding marker chest high and if you think you can aim yer marker wit yer mask on....then I would say yer full of it.

And SKorpion the SAW stock is out.....look this up http://www.tapco.com/product_list.asp?dept=212 but its only fer the A5 only and besides, modding a 98c into a SAW, not even worth tryin.

I know about the A-5 SAW stock. I was referring to the 98C SAW stock. here's the link:

The other solid stock I was refering to is this one: http://www.shop4paintball.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD& amp;ProdID=2287

It's possible it is the same stock from a different angle, but all the stocks I have found like this one have been about half the price of the others.

If anyone has a picture of the full gun with it on it that would be great. I want to make sure it looks alright on the gun before I purchase it.

Looks ain't gonna do anything for you on the field.

I purchased the 98 fx solid stock a while back, and completely regret it!

I was thinking the same thing you were, "man that looks sweet!"

But once it's installed it hinders your agility on the field and makes your 98 Custom very long profile.

go for a RVA or palmers or both. Perfomance and consitency will help you out a lot more than raw "looks"

I completely understand you point Headwound.  But my marker already has quite a long profile and I, believe it or not, like it that way, lol.  I'v played a game with a friends marker which has this type of stock on it and liked it very much.  I play woodsball and typically do not do a whole lot of running around.  Judgeing by your specs you do more front speedball playing.

i love my stock. It's great for keeping the gun steady while aiming, and it feels more natural than the typical star wars laser guns you see on the speedball fields.

I got a collapsable stock to take away that longated appearance.. but I didnt like the overall performance. I mean.. it was great to just snap it to the side when you didnt need it, but with it out, i couldnt see my sites, and it was guessin for the shot.. but pending on what you play, a solidstock is a must with a raised sight rail..
