What is the function of a bolt and how can you tell which is better
then others? Also, does the shape or type of the drop forward do
anything other then personal preference?

the bolt does a few things, actually. first, it directs the air behind a paintball. it also opens and closes the breach to let paintballs in for each shot.
shapes and types of dropforwards are just preference... a lot of speedball players are actually moving toward unimounts and no-drop rails. |

which bolt? im assuming the front bolt. it seals a ball with the barrel for the best efficiancy, and guides the air to consistantlypropell the ball. theres no better bolt than your stock bolt.
drop forwards are all made for comfort and funtion. theres different sizes for different prefrances, and maneuveravility. |

So all these different bolts that you can buy are all the same? Then why do some cost more then others

Some are anti-chop, meaning they got a soft end, so it dont crack/break the ball if u shortstroke, or fire too fast, etc...some allow for better effenciy (sp?) to save u air, and shoot smoother, etc...for tippmanns though, you dont need to worry about none of this seeing its pushing out alot of high pressure neway unless u got a lpk and crap....just the stock bolt is fine for a low end marker. more players are leaning towards unimounts and rails, because that allows the tank to go into u, not under the gun, which means you can get tighter with the gun, and "hug" as i say. Tight is very good thing, u always want to be very tight, and be able to ripp. It takes practice to be tight, and fast at reloading, and switching hands, but all it takes is practice, noone was born with that skill. - mike barch |

theres the hyper-star bolt (pro-team and 32degrees), the proseal bolt, and the supa-fly bolt. the hyperstar bolt totaly ruins your range, the proseal can give you strange problems, as does the supafly bolt. but they all have as many strengths as weaknesses.

i dont like pbreview, most of it is biased opinions. Although thats about half of what this forum is, but most people give true facts.

what are these unimounts and rails, I have seen a few on some sites but have no idea how you can connect a air tank to it.
