Early Xmas present - no fair!! Really though, A5s are great guns - with the cyclone feed system you won't have to waste money on a more expensive aftermarket hopper. There are a ton of upgrades for it for speedball, woodsball, milsim, scenario, the list goes on. Upgrade it the way you want it and most importantly, have fun! Welcome to the boards as well! |

a a-5 is the same as a 98 only the cyclone feed which makes it so u wont need an electric hopper. It is very upgradable meaning u can easily make it into a speedball or woodsball gun.

let a freind use my A-5 and the next day he went out and bought one and put his cocker away. (Were hardcore woodsballers) The cyclone will negate the need for an expensive hopper the flatline realy dose everything they say it dose, amd you realy dont think the flat trajecktioy will be all that diffrent but it is. pluss it is the "New" tippmann so there will be more and more upgrades out for it where as the 98 will have less and less untill its fazed out compleatly. you have aw potential there in your hands shape it how you want and dont listen to anyone who says your a noob becouse you use a tippy |

The two are very similar but you can't really say they're the same. The internals are more or less the same thing except for a few slight changes but there are more drastic changes in the body of the A5 compared to the 98c. The biggest one would be quick stripping which makes cleaning very easy and most upgrades can be installed much quicker since tools aren't needed to get at the guts of the gun. Unless you want to really clean everything on the gun you don't need to separate the halves and take the whole thing apart. The bolt, valve, and trigger assembly only require you to remove a few push pins to access. In addition to that, the barrel threads can be changed so instead of buying barrel adapters which can cause problems you just buy new threads. The A5 also comes with a vertical adapter unlike the 98. The only bad change with the A5 is that you need an adapter to mount a drop forward which isn't expensive but it's still an extra requirement. Other helpful changes would be an adjustable front handle and a closed cocking slot. The closed cocking slot is great because it keeps junk from getting into the gun and it also doesn't move when you shoot so you don't have to worry about the cocking knob hitting into stuff. It's also at the front of the gun instead of the back so it won't end up right in your face if you have the gun close to your head. It's true that the guns are very similar but they definitely are not the same. |
